Please make the version before the new buildings update available!!!! So sad such a wonderful game got ruined. :(

I'll pay $$!! Please may I buy the pre-new buildings version??

What exactly do you miss?

This game sadly suffers from dubious gameplay experience. Starting from level 6 I had no trouble on any ordinary level but would get stuck on boss levels. That means I would seep through 9 or 10 levels in about 3 minutes and then get trapped in repeat loop every 30 seconds on boss level and have to grind for almost an hour getting upgrades to be able to counter long range, rapid firing, high splash enemies.

Technically you can reset your builds and change profile of your 'army' but it just doesn't feel comfortable without presets. Also, the rounds last only a minute, two tops, so I feel discouraged from tinkering with my units, especially since at later stages I can hardly even tell what I could optimize.

I'm not going to give you an advice on how to fix your game because I don't even know what you're aiming for, but I can tell you that the gameplay is just not satisfying. I really like the aesthetic, though. And the game loop is interesting - at least on paper.

Very stupidly funny strategy, once there's 4 or more enemies,

put all your factories FAR FAR away, and have your base be maxed out on range and splash.

The enemies don't really go for your base (as much, they still do) because there's no units/factories drawing towards it, lol

(+1)

I would really like to play because it looks like a lot of fun, but i always die pretty much after 2 or 3 upgrades... I don't have the time to upgrade weapons or anything like that.. Or am i supposed to continue after each defeat until i gather enough resources?

Go for income upgrades first, I think?

(1 edit) (+1)

I tried everything but i just get defeated after 1 minute, i can't even get the first weapon upgrade... What am i missing here?

BTW, everytime i get defeated i hit reset progress and delete save, is that correct?

Also, is there any other mechanic besides upgrading that i might be missing? I clicked everything and hit every key on the keyboard, but .. you never know :D

EDIT:

Ok, after a couple of defeats i got it going, played for over an hour, great game!!

(+1)

i managed to get up to 9.1 by using probably a cheese strategy

get 1 factory with just damage and spawn frequency, then constantly move it around to dodge the bullets and take out the base and factories that way

(started doing it at about 4.3 or so it just felt impossible to survive using any other method other than what feels like cheating but you gotta do what you gotta do)

camera zoom resets upon resetting the level pls fix

(+1)

Love the game so far. This seems to be the farthest I can get. Can't wait for future updates and features.

hi i found a bug in the new version, a tower dead does not disappear but leaves a grey version on the battlefield, i'm using a mac and playing on chrome

and then the polygons are just stuck before grey towers and doesn't approach other enemies behind it

Another thing: when multiple attackers focus on a single target.

After target is destroyed  all fired projectiles continue aimed towards that non-existent enemy. Whole volleys of fire are lost, as the projectiles do not continue moving forward to the next enemy.

The Economy in this game feels... Weird.

(+1)

It gets really slow when you get to 100 million resources.

It is also unbalanced. You need way more pentagons than anything else.

(1 edit)

I would like to suggest a way to the save file be available, so we could play in multiple computers/browsers without losing progress.

(+1)

The new start is WAY slower than the previous version. The passive income crawls along with repeated defeats compared to the immediate jump into combat with the last one

(1 edit) (+3)

That's intended, in order to introduce each upgrade, one at a time.

(-1)

it doesnt work. i get errors after downloading and attempting to run.

(5 edits) (+3)

Just a heads up on the upcoming update:

- level selection

- upgrades respec (with resource refund up to your storage capacity)

- auto upgrades

- passive income

- upgrade value evolution fix

- factory selection fix

- probably a save reset

(+1)

It looks like as it is now, any upgrade increases the price of all the upgrades, so a bad upgrade can permanently make things worse for you. Is there any way to respec?

(+1)

They added a way to respec!!!

(1 edit) (+1)

The polygon units are utterly aliased now. You should use some alias resistant rendering (e.g. well composed mesh or SDF) and avoid very thin edges.

Agreed, they didn't do much for anti-aliasing yet.

(+1)

7/10, excellent game prototype. I look forwards to where this heads, it could easily become 9/10 with more polish.

Color choices, UI design, game mechanics, are well done. Would recommend a less-bright off-white so that some boxes/icons aren't too harsh on the eyes, OR surrounding them in a gray box to lighten the contrast of near-black with white.

Overall very fun, and scaling's decently balanced. Lack of a passive income upgrade is very mildly annoying (it'd be nice as a simple way to resolve softlocks where the base gets instakilled so you can't even farm materials). Perhaps always generate 0.1% of max storage of each material?

Lack of minor QoL is probably due to how new the game is. Assuming that is all fleshed out, then this game is worth a 9/10 imho.

Feedback:

Adding anti-aliasing to a game with graphics like this would be great.

Factories need to automatically bounce apart when colliding with the base or other factories, so their menus don't become inaccessible.

Add map-scrolling, either via minimap click/drag, arrow keys, or right-click-drag (or all 3, toggleable in settings, etc.)

Be able to reset or undo upgrades (i.e. by selling a factory, so I can replace it with a new one without upgrades that are weaker in endgame, like factory-health, or unit-range).

I personally dislike the choice of pentagon units, there's aliasing issues from the awkward angles especially when the unit turns. I'd personally use circles, and perhaps change the bases into hexagons, since the bases never rotate (so they will always look okay).

Button click feedback (darkening + impressing) is subtle and nice.

(+1)

Scrolling around with arrow keys or right-click-drag would be very nice, if you have any factories in unreachable positions (would be nice if factories "bounced" out if they are placed/collide with the base too, a factory placed in the base by accident is permanently unreachable).

al;sdjfaisefj;asefij

upgrading factory health by accident instead of base health is the worst feeling

(+1)

Feedback:

Changing pentagon units into circles will probably look better, at least without aliasing artifacts.

Anti-aliasing might be nice to make it look better.

PLEASE LET US GO BACK DOWN LEVELS, clearing a level doesn't necessarily mean we get money faster on the next one. I make the most amount of money pumping out units and fighting equally with the opponent's factories to farm unit kills/deaths. IT IS VERY PAINFUL to try and recover or get money if I do something like, put all factories on one side to blitzkrieg while stalling the other side.

PLEASE LET US RESET FACTORY UPGRADES (i don't even mind if I lose all money invested into upgrades). It's very painful to deal with upgrades that just make it weaker. Especially when I have a tank factory that spams HP-only units, and I misclick ranged or something by accident.

(+1)

I agree to go back down levels.

Yeah i agree, being able to go back levels would make it more enjoyable and not feel like such a slog trying to grind for parts in a battle you are losing

(4 edits) (+2)

It's sometimes possible to lose access to a factory's upgrade menu (and being able to move it) by placing them at the very edge of the screen and completing the stage, due to zooming in.

(Although, this can be mitigated by zooming back out manually every time a stage ends, if you're aware that's possible.)

(+1)

I believe it's also possible by placing a factory within your base (speaking from personal experience)

Yeah, select boxes seem to collide sometimes.

yep
can't move the factory

(2 edits) (+1)

I like the scaling; it's very refreshing to see a game do it right, with the potential to make actual builds rather than the usual slop of per-item exponential progression that basically locks you into upgrading everything at once.

Of course, it would be nice to have some form of refund option, and some sort of stats menu to identify contributions of each individual shape factory.

(+1)

softlocked at boss 10

I don't understand why 2 factories with same update levels do not produce the same stats for units.

Which stats differ?

All I think.

Can you share some screenshots?

(1 edit)

Alright.

(+2)

The 2 factories don't have the same update levels at all.

One is 2.7/5.2, the other is 3.8/5.10, of course the stats are different?

Also, upgrades taken later on give bigger amounts.

(1 edit) (+1)

I also encountered that. Leveling the stats in a different order seems to cause it when the X of the X.Y version numbers increases in between somewhere. The values seem to reset and sync up when the battle is won (don't know lost/reset?) The firerate was different also and was about to get a screenshot of those when the battle was won, when I checked them again they were the same. Any stat whose +value grows with increase of the main level of the category is likely affected by this.

If you level up one thing 20 times, then another 20 times but do it differently for the next factory within the same battle, you'll see that the first-upgraded stat is lower than the other factory.

I didn't realize it would reset to other values when starting a new level. I'll fix that.

Should probably also add a way to switch levels as it gets quite hard.

Where are you stuck?

In multiple levels.

(-1)

What?!

(+1)

I mean, you'll eventually pass any tedious level with enough grind, so, aye, multiple.

(+1)

TL;DR: It's best to grind $$$ on a level you beat easily, and not the hardest level you can barely beat after a large amount of suffering and dragging factories around to micromanage blitzkriegs. Please let us go "down" levels for the purpose of grinding.

Generally every single level past lvl 6.2 or so, I get softlocked where I get curbstomped initially, grind like 2x the amount of time, and then win easily, often by having a factory with only HP/cooldown stall one side while the other has 3 factories to rush a win, before i move all the factories to fight left side again.

If I don't manually reset the level before winning, I end up going to a level that I'm just wayyyyyy too weak to win against.

(1 edit)

All my data was reset during the update... But thanks so much for adding the music menu

(+5)(-6)

you just made the game exponentially worse by making ALL upgrades increase in price upon buying a certain number of upgrades. nobody wants a fucking puzzle game out of this shit.

(+7)(-1)

Thanks for your feedback! (I guess)

I made this change to make it more strategic, as the player has to choose and plan what to upgrade instead of mindlessly upgrading everything within reach.

(+3)

At least make it possible to respec so you're not just screwed if you chose the wrong upgrades

(+2)

I'll see what I can do.

(+3)

i love the change, made it a lot more strategic and truly incremental

(+1)

Thanks :)

(1 edit) (+2)(-5)

This is how most incremental games work, man. Don't get angry about it.

(+1)(-7)

no, its not. the majority of IG's have each price completely independent from others. the handful that DID scale everything up in price together, failed miserably.

(+3)(-1)

No they didnt lol

(-2)

While almost all the upgrades are the same price besides every 10 upgrades, this is still a new game, and they are still developing it.

(+1)

dunno which games you were playing, but the vast majority of the ones i played never had anything resembling this

(7 edits) (+2)

I want a 'puzzle' game out of this, and there aren't many incrementals that give that to me. If you want to play a braindead incremental, there are hundreds more; let the 'niche' be. Some people DO like this.

Also maybe add a mute button; it's sort of loud.

If you refresh the page, the tutorial goes away and you can't get it back; if you don't want to reverse that bug maybe just add a tutorial button.

(+7)

Very cool game concept, but it does get unbalanced pretty quickly.

At a certain point everything is ranging and aoeing the entire map, so why do things like move speed upgrades even exist?  Perhaps as you get to later waves the map could zoom out?

Health doesn't seem to keep up with dps in general which would be fine if there was a persistent meat grinder away from the starting locations, but as it stands all the factories/bases blow up for one side or the other.

I very nearly got softlocked when my base was getting one-tapped by the enemy bases and I was collecting no resources per wave.  Perhaps there should be a way to return to earlier waves and stay there?

It seems like resources you would collect disappear off the map when you hit victory screen.  Maybe that's just the visual effects though, didn't check too closely.

I absolutely love the way upgrade costs scale, with periods of a lot of activity, and periods of rest, although it does lead to a situation where you might as well buy every upgrade in equal-ish amouhts, and particularly for the econ upgrades, you're paying 10 times as much for an addititive multiplier, which is doubly-diminishing returns.

It's a little bit frustrating to have to click through all your factories to check which ones are at which upgrade state.  Some quality of life things to help might be "upgrade to next threshold" or "upgrade max" buttons/mode, a way to select your factories in order, even if they are destroyed/moved, or a way to visualize/buy all your factory upgrades at once.

Big picture, it would be really cool if the different types of ships were more differentiated: small fast swarming ships, big tanky capital ships, long range glass cannons e.g.  Some way to put the veneer of strategy rather than just scaling up equally.

(+1)

Game quickly become unplayable due to unable to move/upgrade factory. There should be some way to:

- select factory underneath enemy base/factory

- move/config factory before level start

yep, after reading some comments and being stuck on level 2 forever (no matter how much movement speed and attack i bought for that base, I never seemed to actually become permanentl stronger than the enemy) I jsut dragged the fatory right under the enemy base.

beat second and third elvel with zero effort.

well game over from then on cause you cant drag that factorry out anymore, let alne being able to farm stuff.

yourt base is sjut defenseless at that point.

I jsut dont get how this game works as upgrades seem to be useless.
and if it is some "choose your ugprade path" kind of thing then maybe the kind of ressource the current level gives us (only triangle, square or polygon) shouldnt then basically deciude the 2 upgrades we only can buy. -.-

(+1)

About the upgrades: switch the unit your factory produces. You get materials on ally death, to farm free $$$ too.

It's an incremental, so yeah, the enemy always gets stronger the more you play. Eventually you fight on multiple fronts, at around lvl 6.2, and eventually the enemy can shoot at your base from the start of the fight around lvl 15 or so.

Movement speed just makes your units weaker. Stop using it.

At first, have a factory that has 700 range (+200 over normal), and ONLY UPGRADE AOE SIZE, don't even bother upgrading damage. Don't upgrade range after around 800 range, more is useless (and makes your base vulnerable to enemy AOE if your units don't move away from the base)

The second factory, ONLY UPGRADE HEALTH AND PRODUCTION SPEED.

Figure things out from there, should be pretty easy/obvious.

(+2)

Unit range seems to be a downgrade at some point because you want them to be far enough from the factory to not get AOE'd.

Every 20 Levels the Enemy AOE increases by 75%. Basically, in order to stop the first Volley from the enemy bases from hitting my base at Level 140+, I need to move my Factories underneath their own base

(+1)

I had to read the comments to discover you can drag and move your factories, while it's something you must do to survive at later levels :(

I find the screen shaking effects to be very frustrating. I often find myself restarting a level several times just to accurately click on factories and not shift their positions before things start exploding. When combined with the glow effects, they can also make it difficult to tell whether a factory is producing hexagons or squares.

I would also greatly appreciate a volume slider or two.

I like that you get resources from your own destroyed units. It makes it feel far less punishing to be stuck on a level

I concur with what other folks have said regarding unit attack range upgrades mostly feeling like a trap, given the abundance of splash damage. It started feeling really bad around level 30, I think.

The ability to specialize certain factories is interesting, but the ramping costs incentivize pretty homogeneous upgrades.

It's really nice the sliders are added now!!!

(+2)

factories should have universal stats having to upgrade each indivually is a bit much

and a way to get at least some passive income would be nice

(+2)

It's designed like this so you can specialize each factory for a certain type of unit. Like combining long range units and tanky ones.

(+2)

i just upgrade each stat for each base (and i imagine thats how most people will do it)

(+1)

I mean, personally, I don't care much for health on my backline factories, and things I expect to die quickly don't need much cap.

(+1)

I personally like the individual upgrades.  Given the ramping up costs of things, upgrading new factories wasn't my biggest economical choke point.

I very much like the specializing stats system. The only downside is if you misclick anything, it's absolutely devastating. Factory health is useless, for example. And range turns into a downgrade when enemies can AOE your factories if your units are ranged and dont move away from the factories as a result.

(+2)

This is a fun game. Reached lv30

Here is some though when I play the game:

1. You should never invest unit range because your units would stay around the factory and the enemy AOE attack would damage your factory.

2. Enemy come from both side. We need some control on how many unit can a base on each side span or better, max unit count should be a factory upgrade.

Thanks!

How much time did it take to reach level 30?

It's not tutorialized yet but you can move your factories around. Does it help?

(+1)

I second the "don't invest in unit range"  because of AOE will hit the factory. You want your units to move in to build distance.    Maybe base and factories should have a significant splash damage reduction. Cheers!

(1 edit)

There is no timer. My guess is a bit more than one hour?

With my gamer mind, I realise I can move factories as soon as we have enemy form both side. However, there is no room for moving in the later game:

If I move to the enemy , nothing changes;

If I move to the base, the AOE damage my base too;

If I move the base to up or down, half of the enemy would attack the base directly.

(+1)

I moved one of the bases under the menu and now I can't select it.

Sorry about that. Was it intentional or because of a bug though?

I was just moving it around hoping for a better position. It turns out I can grab it through the menu and was just clicking the wrong spot. But it would be nice if I could scroll around or something. Or if I can't, just make it so the top of the screen isn't accessible at all.

(+3)(-1)

Defeated lvl 80 :D Cool game!
Perhaps the health for bases and factories could be buffed up a bit, and range nerfed. Cheers!

Congrats! How much time did it take?

(+1)

I would say about 2h.

(+2)

there needs to be a fastforward option

(1 edit)

It will probably be a paid (in game money) temporary feature.

(-3)

So I reached level 25. I guess I have autism
